US Open 2001

Lindsay Davenport, who is appearing in her 11th US Open, won her first Grand Slam title at the 1998 US Open to become the first American-born woman since Chris Evert in 1982 to win the US Open.

After a two-and-a-half month absence due to a right knee bone bruise, Davenport returned from her injury to win 2001 Eastbourne.

Serena Williams (USA) defeated Lindsay Davenport (USA) 6/3, 6/7, 7/5.
