CART too dangerous for me, says SchumacherAmerican motorsport fans are unlikely ever to see Ferrari's Formula One champion Michael Schumacher racing on a high-speed oval. The German feels it is too dangerous. "I have never really looked into it and thought about it because I simply don't see a point in it," Schumacher said at the U.S. Grand Prix on Friday when asked in a news conference about oval racing. "There's two reasons," he added. "First of all, I feel it is too dangerous from my point of view. "The second point is I feel Formula One is the highest challenge you can have in motor racing. "So obviously, I'm doing well here and I don't see a point to prove anything in an Indy race, IndyCar or ChampCar or whatever." Canadian Jacques Villeneuve and Colombian Juan Pablo Montoya are two grand prix winners who have experience on ovals, such as the full Indianapolis circuit where both men have won the Indy 500 race. Formula One will use only a part of that oval for Sunday's race, the penultimate round of a championship series that Schumacher has already won.
