The Indian pair of Harsh Mankad and Vishal Uppal booked a place in the doubles final while Austrian Zbynek Mlynarik and Marcel Felder of Uruguay set up a singles title clash, in the ITF men's Futures tennis tournament in Kolkata on Friday.
Mankad and Uppal overcame stiff resistance in the opening set before getting the better of Daniel Lesske of Germany and Jasper Smit of The Netherlands 7-6 (7-5), 6-0 in 82 minutes to reach the final, at the BTA tennis complex.
The other doubles semi-final between the Indian duo of Vijay Kannan and Ajay Ramaswamy and the Italian combination of Alessandro Da Col and Guiseppe Menga remained unfinished due to bad light.
The Indians, who pocketed the first set 6-3, before conceding the second by the same margin, were locked 3-3 with their opponents in the decider when play was halted.
In singles semi-finals, Mlynarik staged a fine rally after dropping the opening set against Italian Alessandro Da Col to win 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 in two hours, while Felder outsmarted Japan's Naoki Arimoto 6-2, 3-6, 6-1.
