The details of former Australia hockey captain Ric Charlesworth's appointment as Technical Advisor of Indian hockey will be finalised within the next few weeks before he commences his stint in December.

Final details of the contract will be dealt with in the weeks to come and it is expected that Charlesworth -- due to existing commitments -- will start his work by the beginning of December, the International Hockey Federation said in a statement on Thursday.

Charlesworth is presently working with New Zealand Cricket as a High Performance Manager.

Upon his arrival in India, details of his activities will be finalised and presented early next month during which the International Hockey Federation's Executive Board will also meet in New Delhi.

The FIH office-bearers will visit India from November 5-11 while the Executive Board will meet from November 9-11.

During his stint with Indian hockey, Charlesworth will assess and -- where necessary -- redesign structures, methods and plans in place so that India, in a year's time and regardless of short term results, will be ready to embark on its campaign to succeed in the World Cups 2010, the Commonwealth Games 2010 and the Olympic Games 2012.

He will also be available to the present coaching staff in place for any advice and input they may need in the lead up to the Olympic Qualifying tournaments next year.

Charlesworth's appointment is one of the outcomes of the 'Promotion Indian Hockey' project of the FIH in cooperation with the Indian Hockey Confederation, the Indian Olympic Association and Olympic Solidarity of the IOC.
