Though a big hero in Kannada, Darshan did not have a big hit in 2007. Though Ee Bandhana is doing extremely well at the box office, the credit for the success of the film has gone to Vishnuvardhan and Jayaprada.
However, that is all set to change in 2008 for Darshan's first film of the year, Gaja is tailor made for him.
The film closely resembles the super hit Telugu film Bhadra starring Ravi Teja and Meera Jasmine, though Gaja's producers Srinivasa Murthy and Suresh Gowda have vehemently denied that their film is a remake.
However, people connected with the film admit that it is the remake Bhadra.
Meanwhile, Maadesh, who is making his debut as a director says that Gaja is based on a Telugu novel published in 1998!
