After London Dreams, director Vipul Shah has moved on to his next film, Action Replayy. Starring his favourite actor Akshay Kumar, along with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Neha Dhupia and Randhir Kapoor, the director recently shot a Holi number on his lead actresses.
The Holi song has been shot without water -- quite a rarity in Hindi cinema -- keeping in mind Mumbai's water crisis. Organic colours have been used.
The film revolves around an old man, who travels backward in time, to when he becomes a young man in the 1970s.
Shah insists that his film is not inspired from Brad Pitt-starrer The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Instead, he claims his film is based on a Gujarati play called Action Replay.
This is the first time Shah is working with Ash.
Shah has, however, worked with Akshay Kumar several times, in films like Aankhen, Waqt: Race Against Time, Namaste London and Singh is Kinng. In fact, the only time Shah did not work with Akki -- in London Dreams -- the film sank at the box office.
Will Action Replayy give Vipul Shah yet another hit? Let's wait and see when the film releases this year.
