Hidden in the central suburbs of Matunga in Mumbai, a quaint little theatre called Aurora has suddenly sprung to life.
Crowds thronged the gates early this morning, as the theatre got ready for its first show of Superstar Rajnikanth's new Tamil-Hindi bilingual Endhiran/Robot.
As is custom with Rajni films, prayers were offered at a temple near the theatre, with the film reel sealed in a glistening metal box.
After the pooja, a procession started from the temple to Aurora theatre, where more crowds waited in anticipation.

Rajnikanth towered over the theatre's entrance, as children posed happily for photographs.
Fans, who could not enter the theatre premises, climbed over the wall to join in the Rajni celebrations.
A 61 feet poster of Rajnikanth was erected at the theatre to herald in the crowds.
Children could not contain their happiness even as the sun glared down on them. The noon heat was obviously not a factor.
Brave fans soon clambered over the poster and bathed it with milk.
People offered similar prayers for the Superstar's previous blockbuster Sivaji: The Boss and poured milk over the film's posters.
Fans broke into a dance as the traditional Nadaswaram (seen in the picture) and drums were played by a live band. The band - comprised of fans as well - was playing for the love of the Superstar, without any greed for money.
Yet, they were paid in full. Happy fans doled out cash to the musicians.
The theatre is already houseful for the entire week!
The film reel finally reaches the theatre.
