Rajani is the remake of V V Vinayak's Telugu film Krishna (starred Ravi Teja and Trisha).
Rajani is a masala entertainer, according to its director "Thriller" Manju. Thriller Manju is a popular stunt director who has directed many successful films earlier. The film is produced by Ramu whose films are made on a larger canvass and have invariably top stars from the industry working in it.
Ramu says that Upendra's fans would love the package of comedy and action in Rajani. He is also quite appreciative of music director Hamsalekha whose compositions have already become popular in the market.
"Upendra is fabulous on the screen. His dialogue delivery, fights and dance steps are the major attractions. We have a number of comedy artists in the film. Rangayana Raghu, Sadhu Kokila, Bullet Prakash and Doddanna are superb in their respective roles. We have brought in Mukul Dev to play the villain, a perfect choice," says the film's director.
